The Cottonwood Airport & Expo Louisville is seeking a night unarmed security officer to patrol the premises and detect, deter, and report suspicious activity. This is a full time night position with shifts from 10pm-6am. Previous security or law enforcement experience is helpful but not required; what is essential is initiative, attention to detail, and a sense of ownership.

Responsibilities:

• Patrol premises, including parking lot, to prevent and detect suspicious activity; walk all floors, inspect lobby restrooms, walk staircase, and ensure all exit doors are secured at all times
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Monitor entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Investigate illegal or suspicious activities.
• Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
• Warn individuals about rule violations or safety concerns.
• Operate surveillance equipment to detect suspicious or illegal activities.

Experience:

• Previous experience in security and/or law enforcement preferred.
• Current & valid driver’s license
• Read, write, speak and understand English; bilingual Spanish a plus
• Ability to remain calm and keep good judgment under pressure and in stressful situations
• Attention to detail
