Overview
Travel Surgical Technologist – Cardiac OR, Rochester, NY. This 13-week travel assignment starts on 04/27/2026 with a weekly pay range of $1,713 to $1,745 and no guaranteed hours. The role uses a 12-hour shift in an inpatient surgical services environment, supporting adult cardiac procedures (e.g., CABG, TAVI, and heart‑failure devices) from the scrub position and assisting the OR team with turnover and instrument handling.

Responsibilities
- Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for adult cardiac procedures; assist the surgical team from the scrub position during operations
- Maintain sterile technique, ensure accurate surgical counts, and safely handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under RN direction
- Scrub and circulate during cardiac surgeries (e.g., CABG, TAVI) and assist with room turnover between cases
- Manage instrument and supply turnover, safe handling of sharps, and equipment readiness throughout the case
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support patient safety and procedural flow; respond to unit needs and assist with documentation as appropriate
- Support on-call coverage and unit needs per operational requirements

Requirements
- NY State Surgical Technologist license required
- NBSTSA certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
- Two (2) years or recent experience in a cardiac OR
- Able to scrub and circulate
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma setting is highly desired
