Summary: Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection and testing procedures per test sheet QF8262 on the equipment using available/designed test equipment
• Comply to and demonstrate safe work ethics
• Set-up (bolt on fittings) and disassembly of equipment to be tested
• Daily maintenance of testing equipment and test facility
• Assist senior technicians in the performance of their duties
• Assist all departments as required to achieve product deadlines
• Maintain test area and test equipment, including cleaning and or painting
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred.
• Minimum one year mechanical experience preferred. Knowledge in the use of precision measuring devices.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and learn all basic test procedures.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and fill out test forms.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Must be able to convey ideas and concepts verbally or by sketch.
• Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
• Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and MSDS sheets.
