Summary Serves as Army Museum Enterprise (AME), West Regional Chief. Provides oversight, coordination, administration, and management of the operations and museum programs in 8 to 10 Army field museums in accordance with AME priorities. Ensures professionalization of the workforce, adherence to regulatory standards, and achievement of reform initiatives while facilitating local command priorities and requirements. Provide oversight, coordination, administration, and management of specified regional museum programs. Provide guidance and taskings to staff curators serving as liaison with relevant commands and garrisons. Provide supervision and coordination of long‑term strategic plans to manage and monitor performance of regional museums. Travel to oversee programs, monitor progress, and provide direction to subordinates at the regional museums. Share knowledge with colleagues at various museum symposiums. Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, based on a completed background investigation. Expected travel up to 25% for this position. Qualifications Basic Requirement For Museum Curator: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in museum work, museum studies, history, or an applicable subject area; OR combination of education and experience; OR four years of experience comparable to a four‑year course of study. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) planning, executing, supervising and evaluating overall programs and projects; (2) executing museum resource management (manpower and financial); and (3) composing policies and operational guidelines concerning museum management. Foreign Education: Credits from foreign institutions must be evaluated by a private organization or be deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited program. Salary includes applicable locality pay or local market supplement. Work Schedule and Compensation Full‑time, permanent appointment at GS‑14 with pay range $126,563 – $164,531 per year.
