Tool And Equipment Service Technician

The Tool and Equipment Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical tools. This role also involves assisting customers with equipment recommendations, demonstrating proper usage, and ensuring all tools and equipment are clean, safe, and fully operational.

Perform in-shop diagnostics and repairs on customer-owned units and store equipment.

Provide thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on assigned work orders.

Utilize appropriate tools and adhere to all safety standards.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.

Assist customers with tool and equipment rentals, purchases, and service needs.

Demonstrate proper equipment usage and preventive maintenance techniques.

Deliver top-tier customer service by offering expert product knowledge and tailored solutions.

Ensure all rental equipment is clean, well-maintained, and safe for customer use.

Repair and maintain outdoor power equipment, including riding lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, generators, and pressure washers.

Support sales and service needs for brands such as Milwaukee, Toro, EGO, STIHL, John Deere, and Honda.

Mentor Service Technician Trainees and assist in developing team members' technical skills.

Participate in dealer training programs to enhance product knowledge and repair expertise.

Operate forklifts and other equipment after completing the required training and certification.

Follow company policies, OSHA regulations, and state-mandated safety procedures.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Strong technical knowledge of small engines and their components.

Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and established procedures.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Forklift certification is a plus (training will be provided if needed).

Comfortable working in a repair shop environment using standard equipment.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift/carry objects up to 25 pounds.

Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, reaching, and pushing.

Must be comfortable working in an animal-friendly environment (accommodations available upon request).

Pay ranging from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
