Shipping Specialist Job Duties: Shipping Clerks must be proficient in the safe operation of the following pieces of material handling equipment: Sit down propane fork-lifts, Stand up high reach electric fork-lifts, Overhead cranes and other material handling equipment. Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of all utilized material handling equipment and request additional maintenance when required. While moving inventory for any purpose employee must maintain accurate counts and locations of inventory. Proper use of a counting scale is necessary for a significant portion of shipping and receiving transactions. Employee should be checking part numbers and descriptions to insure correct part is pulled and shipped to Customer. Safely load and unload trucks while maintaining an accounting of the merchandise received or shipped. Maintain ISO procedures while preparing parts for shipment to Customers/Vendors including tagging, banding, boxing, assembly, and cleaning.
