Job Description

Senior Manager Large Case Pensions

The Senior Manager Large Case Pensions is responsible for:

  1. Pricing of Employer sponsored Pension Plan benefits in the event of plan termination and/or contract discontinuance.
  2. Development of reserves for Large Case Pension's Group Annuity liabilities using the company's internally developed Benefit Reserve System (BRS) and externally licensed software.
  3. Analysis of reserve valuations necessary to meet contractual requirements with plan sponsors, appropriate reserve levels to satisfy STAT, GAAP and tax regulations and financial reporting needs.
  4. Support for customer service teams by providing pricing factors and case specific pricing analysis of unusual pricing situations.
  5. Liability and related cashflow projections supporting investment planning and financial reporting for Aetna's Group Annuity liabilities.
  6. Ensure the financial adequacy of existing or potential reserve bases.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 75,400

Maximum: 162,700

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working with defined benefit pension plans, annuities, and actuarial concepts
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • 10+ years of experience with MS Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actuarial credential: FSA, ASA, or EA

Education

Bachelors Degree
