We are currently looking for a full time Scale Operator to perform various functions that include but are not limited to greeting customers, receiving, weighing and processing incoming metals and materials, and inspecting received materials.
To perform the duties of this job, the applicant must have good interpersonal skills; be patient and tactful; to be cooperative and have a good attitude at all times with managers/supervisors, co-workers, customers and visitors. No scrap metal experience needed.
Operate the scales. All scale tickets must be verified and contain correct information in regards to customer, material, weights. Accurately inspect all materials ensuring correct weights, materials description and grade for all inbound and outbound loads. Determine the grade of material and enter into the inventory system. Assist in the sorting and processing of materials. Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles. Ensure accurate documentation of scale transactions. Communicate material discrepancies with Operations Managers. Communicate and assist yard staffs as necessary. Follow detailed specifications on outbound loads. Adhere to all safety, and environmental standards. Keep a clean and organized work area.
Excellent customer service skills. Work well under pressure and ability to prioritize. Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Willingness to learn.
Demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Treat all persons with courtesy and respect. Must be able to work regardless of weather conditions. The ability to follow directions and safety regulations.
