Role Description: We’re on the lookout for a fun-loving, hardworking, and ambitious individual who’s eager to grow with us. As a Dental Assistant, you'll be a core part of creating a positive, anxiety-free experience for our young patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting Dr. Shah during procedures, capturing digital X-rays, comforting anxious kids using "tell-show-do" techniques, and keeping our operatories running seamlessly. Your role is super important in making the dental office feel safe, fun, and welcoming for our kids and their families!

Requirements (Boring but necessary stuff):

  • Active PA Dental Radiology (X-Ray) Certification
  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • Minimum 2+ years of clinical chairside dental assisting experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A patient, warm, and friendly demeanor with children

Duties:

  • Provide efficient, compassionate 4-handed chairside assistance during pediatric exams, restorative care, and preventative procedures.
  • Guide young patients and parents through visits using friendly behavior management techniques to ease anxiety.
  • Capture high-quality pediatric digital radiographs efficiently and comfortably.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and disinfect treatment operatories, instruments, and clinical equipment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
  • Educate parents and children on good oral hygiene habits and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes and records using dental software.
  • Collaborate closely with the dentist and front-desk team to ensure smooth, stress-free clinic operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program preferred.
  • At least 2 years of chairside dental assisting experience (pediatric experience preferred, but general DA experience with a love for working with kids is welcome!).
  • Active PA Radiology Certification required.
  • CPR/BLS Certification required (Nitrous Oxide monitoring certification is a plus!).
  • Proficiency with digital dental software and digital X-ray equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with both children and adults.
  • A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for pediatric patient care.
