Position Summary:
The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prior experience in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
• Answer and manage incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations
• Collect co-pays, balances, and maintain accurate payment records
• Maintain and update patient records in the EMR system
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
• Handle front desk administrative tasks including scanning, faxing, and filing
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office policies

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years of medical receptionist experience (required)
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification
• Experience with EMR systems (Modernizing Medicine)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Professional demeanor and appearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in ENT, facial plastics, or specialty practice
• Familiarity with billing workflows and prior authorizations
