Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will ensure smooth clinic operations by managing patient intake, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate medical records. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly, answer multi-line phone systems, and provide exceptional customer service with professional phone etiquette
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and verification processes including Medicare and other payers
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including intake documentation review and updating medical records
  • Assist with medical billing and collection efforts, ensuring accurate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for procedures and diagnoses
  • Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive health information and medical documentation
  • Support front desk operations by filing, faxing, scanning documents, managing office supplies, and operating office equipment.

Experience

  • Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
  • Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and private insurers
  • Excellent computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
  • Proven ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy in documentation review and data entry
