Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and launching the varsity eSports Program and is in charge of recruiting student-players; building and maintaining collaborative relationships with outside agencies in the eSports industry; managing the budget; and overseeing the general operations, coaching, and building of the Program identity. Minimum of (1) year of structured eSports gaming experience Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge:
eSports gaming culture and eSports gaming competition league rules and regulations;
Online gaming across varied platforms;
Information Technology.



Skills:
Organizing and planning;
Participating and competing in eSports.



Abilities:
Work effectively with college students of diverse backgrounds and cultures;
Serve as a role model for young adults. Physical Demands/Working Conditions PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the OCCC campus and offsite outreach locations.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position; must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
This position requires the person to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
This position requires the person to judge, observe, and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
Work is performed in an indoor office setting.
Work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, and stable work environment.
Work performed during eSports tournament season will require nights, evenings, some weekends
as needed.
Work performed outside of eSports tournament season will require normal office hours with occasional nights and evenings as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
(2) years’ of coaching experience and structured eSports coordination at a community college in Student Affairs, eSports, and/or Computer Lab. Required Training Quarterly and yearly as required by the institution Work Hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends as needed.
