Job Description
ABOUT ZERO HOMES
Our mission is to rebuild American communities through healthy, affordable
homes.
At Zero Homes, we operate on a simple premise: when you make contractors
successful, homeowners win. The current home services industry is fragmented,
complex, and opaque, which is frustrating for homeowners and exhausting for
contractors. We are changing this by building a home upgrade marketplace that
enables a simple, central, transparent process for homeowners and contractors to
complete projects.
Through our platform we handle design, quoting, procurement, and customer
service, allowing our contractor network to focus on what they do best and make
them money: delivering projects. For homeowners, this delivers a predictable,
high-quality, and transparent experience—transforming home upgrades from a
source of anxiety into a seamless experience. Our vision is to create a world
where homeowners and contractors in all 50 states can leverage our platform to
execute thousands of projects every week within the next 36 months.
We work by a clear set of values:
* Be a "can kid," not a "can’t kid": We own our outcomes and go to
extraordinary lengths to solve problems.
* Go fast, be clear: Speed is our advantage, and we sweat the details to
deliver an extraordinary customer experience.
* Customer & Contractor Obsessed: We have a deep, personal understanding of the
work to be done. We stay curious about our contractors' craft and the stories
of our homeowners.
* Win, as a team: We are building an iconic business that will reinvent the
industry, and will do so together.
If you are ready to build a world-class consumer experience that genuinely
rebuilds American communities, come build with us.
ABOUT THE ROLE & YOUR IMPACT
We are looking for a Director of People to elevate our people operations from
the scrappy, early days of a startup into a well-oiled machine that keeps our
people, office, and talent acquisition engine functioning at their highest
levels. You will pull together a number of processes & policies for hiring,
onboarding, events and our office to create an incredible and cohesive
experience for our team. If done well, you’ll not only enable us to grow quickly
to achieve our business ambitions, but also to achieve our goal of being the
best and most sought after company in Colorado.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a natural connector and bring energy into every room you enter. You love
building strong, fun team cultures, meaningful events, and handle the thoughtful
details that elevate experiences. Your default is to put structure where there

paper and what actually works in a high velocity organization. You have get s***
done attitude and don’t believe there is a task that is beneath you. Finally,
you have the highest standards when it comes to integrity and discretion. You
know how to gracefully handle a variety of personalities and situations (good,
bad, or otherwise), and build trust with leadership by toeing the line of
handling vs. escalating issues to leadership appropriately.

What You'll do
* Executive Partnership: Act as a direct, trusted advisor to our leadership
team on all things people, facilities, recruiting, events, compliance, and
enable them to focus on scaling the business.
* Build structure & take ownership: You’ll take ownership over many shared
responsibilities and improve our core people program operations and cadences
with an eye toward what can scale, not just what works today.
* Recruiting Engine: Partner closely with our Lead Recruiter and hiring
managers to build a recruiting machine that supports Product, G&A, and Ops
roles as we triple in size over the next 12 months.
* Compensation & Equity: Maintain our compensation and equity bands so we can
make expedited, confident offers, and negotiate fairly.
* Culture & Team Health: Protect and invest in a culture that values meaningful
work, cherishes relationships with their teammates, and doesn’t take
themselves too seriously.
* Facilities: You’ll collaborate with our office manager on the consistent need
for office improvements, but also may manage a full office build out should
we expand or move.
* Policy & Compliance: Maintain clean, simple HR policies and processes that
keep us compliant without slowing us down. Maintain ironclad confidentiality
of our human resources data.
What You Bring
* 5-8+ years in People Operations, HR, or a related function, building - not
just running - a people function at a high-growth company.
* Proven ability to design and implement people programs, policies, and systems
from scratch in a fast-moving environment.
* Comfortable operating as a direct report to a founder or CEO, with the
judgment to handle sensitive and confidential matters with the utmost
discretion and integrity.
* Demonstrable experience supporting recruiting, compensation, and workforce
planning across diverse functions (technical, sales, and field/ops roles) in
a high-growth environment.
* Passion for and skilled at creating a fun and meaningful work environment,
special events, team building opportunities, and positive recognition
