Position Overview

Summit Supports is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This part-time position offers the opportunity to build genuine, lasting relationships while helping individuals achieve their goals and build independence through person-centered support. Support clients spending quality time together, accessing community, going out to lunch, etc.

 

Schedule

Part-time position :

  • flexible on which days of the week, you can pick!
  • times being requested on days chosen are 12-4 to be with client
  • client is located in Broomfield

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Spend time with client to confirm residence is in order and needs are being met
  • Take client to lunch
  • Run brief errands if and when needed
  • Provide transportation to access the community
  • Implement individualized support plans and track progress toward goals using online tools.
  • Foster social skills, development, and meaningful community connections.
  • Monitor health, safety, and well-being of individuals in our care
  • Maintain comprehensive daily tracking
  • Communicate regularly with Summit Supports staff, case managers, guardians, and other members of individuals team

 

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a DSP required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with appropriate liability insurance
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Physical capacity to meet the demands of the position. Specifically; ability to hike, guide activities in the gym and other social settings which require walking.
  • Successfully pass all required background checks (APS, CPS, State Patrol, FBI)
  • Commitment to working with individuals who may have complex behavioral, medical, or support needs
  • Dedication to Summit Supports’ mission of promoting individualized independence

  • Provider tracking requirements
  • Mandatory Reporter Training
  • Behavioral support techniques
  • Individual rights, abuse prevention, and neglect recognition
  • Ongoing annual training updates as required by state regulations and Summit Supports standards

 

Compensation

  • $23 - $25 per hour
