Are you a skilled Court Reporter eager to serve the justice system? The 16th Judicial Circuit seeks a dedicated professional to accurately capture and preserve judicial records. If you excel in a fast-paced legal setting and value precision and professionalism, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

• Record and preserve courtroom proceedings using machine shorthand or steno mask.
• Produce accurate, timely transcripts upon request.
• Mark and maintain custody of exhibits as directed by the court
• Prepare correspondence, forms, and legal documents.
• Proofread and edit written materials; maintain organized case files.
• Generate reports and operate courtroom office equipment.
  

What You’ll Bring:

• Proficiency in court reporting software and standard office applications
• Knowledge of legal processes, terminology, and document preparation
• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Ability to apply state and federal guidelines and court rules
• Exceptional discretion and commitment to confidentiality
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform well under pressure
• Effective interpersonal skills with court professionals, staff, and the public
  

Education & Certification:

• You need to be a Certified Court Reporter (CCR) as required by Missouri law.

Additional Requirements:

• Selected candidates will undergo background screening.
• Other checks may include education verification, child abuse and neglect clearances, drug screening, and physical assessments.
