CNC Machinist / EDM Machinist Training On Day Shift

Long-term overnight role. TOPS Staffing is partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company to hire a CNC Machinist or EDM Machinist to join their growing team. This role offers hands-on training on the daylight shift before transitioning into a full-time overnight position. It's a great opportunity for machinists who want to strengthen their skills, learn new processes, and secure a steady overnight role with long-term stability.

Position Overview: This position begins with a structured training period on the daylight shift lasting approximately 36 months. During training, you'll work closely with experienced machinists to learn the company's machines, processes, quality standards, and documentation requirements. Once training is complete, you'll move into a permanent overnight shift role. The ideal candidate has experience with CNC machining or EDM operations and is comfortable working independently once trained.

Training & Shift Details:

• Training Shift: Daylight shift during training period (36 months)
• Night shift after training from 11pm to 7am
• Overtime may be available depending on workload

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC or EDM machines according to job requirements
• Load programs, adjust offsets, and monitor machine performance
• Perform tool changes and routine machine adjustments
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met
• Complete required production and quality documentation
• Troubleshoot minor machine or process issues
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all safety and quality procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a CNC Machinist or EDM Machinist
• Comfortable learning new equipment and processes
• Ability to read blueprints and job travelers
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Basic computer skills for documentation and machine interfaces
• Willingness to train on daylight shift and transition to overnight work
